My "To Do" List
Today was the day that I decided to get somethings I have been meaning to do done. Since I had a half day at work, I made a list of things to do:

1. Go to mall to return pink polo shirt you got from Express Men that you knew was wrong for you before you bought but decided to buy it anyway.
2. Have lunch at mall (Sbarro's, or something else fast but good).
3. Head to Angelika Movie Theatre to see Strangers With Candy at 2pm.
4. After movie, return digital cable DVR back to Charter Cable.
I gathered the Charter DVR and Express polo, along with my other work essentials, put them in my trunk and headed out the door. This is where thing started going wrong.
I arrived at work and I needed to retrieve some of the items from the trunk. I lifted the release latch from inside my car ... but nothing happened. I tried again but there was no response. I just got the latch fixed 4 months ago for this problem. I ended up using the key to open the trunk to retrieve my things. I closed the trunk and tried the latch again, and it finally opened the trunk. (note: make appointment with Toyota to get trunk latch looked at)
I arrive at my office things seemed to be really slow. I thought I would be able to catch up on things that I failed to do the day before because ended up spending three hours on the phone with Dell after our backup server stopped working. Everything was fine until about 11:30am when my co-workers all decided to take lunch leaving me alone to man the phones. I didn't leave work at noon as planned. Finally at 12:45pm I left the office. Even though with the forty-five minute delay I thought I would be able to accomplish all of my tasks. So I headed to the mall.
I head to the Galleria Mall, where I purchased the shirt but there were about 10 cars queued on the street just to get into the mall entrance. I waited for about 5 minutes before going to a different entrance. As I changed lanes this lady in a silver car just missed hitting me by a foot when she decided just to plow threw 5 lanes of traffic. I was pissed and honked my horn (as I clutched my pearls)... and the ice princess didn't even acknowledge me. As I looked into her eyes that were veiled behind oversized shades, I thought maybe I was over reacting. But when I saw the pedestrian on the median looking visibily shocked at what just happened I figure that my reaction was justified. Driving around in circles unable to reach the other mall entrance, I decided to get forgo the mall and get something to eat. I stopped at McDonald's to picked a delicious (yet revolting) number 1 combo. In under 1 minute I had my food in hand and headed for home.
Got home, dropped off my work bag, slammed the Big Mac and fries down my gullet using my medium Hi-C Orange drink as lubrication, then headed to the movie theatre at 1:50pm.
I found my seat in theatre 5 when the light dimmed and the previews started. I saw a lot of previews for movies I think I will see (Little Miss Sunshine, The Great New Wonderful, The Night Listener, Scoop.

The movie that I have been waiting for the last 2 years for Strangers With Candy and the movie is really funny. The main character Jerri Blank, played by Amy Sedaris, wasn't as ugly as she was on the television ... but I guess extreme ugliness on the small screen would be overhelming on the big screen. All the guest stars (Alison Janning, Mathew Broderick, Sarah Jessica Parker, Philip Seymour Hoffman) really were good in their brief scenes. Stephen Colbert, of course, stole the movie. The movie is playing in limited release but check it out if it comes to your area.
After the movie I made my way to the Charter Cable office to drop off the DVR only to find out that the office closed on June 2, 2006. I called customer service and I was given the following options:
- drop it off at location 30+ minutes one-way frin my house for a 5 minute transaction.
- schedule a techinician to pick up the box (which I would have to take time off of work).
I asked for them to send me a shipping label so I send to them via FedEx or UPS. The representative denied my request and I asked to speak with their supervisor. I was transfered to another representative, who was not the supervisor, and explained the situation. This person without debate processed a shipping label request, and I thanked them. I still don't know why they closed the only office that services 500+ customers. That makes no sense to me.
The only think I didn't get done was the shirt exchange but I will head to the mall tomorrow or Sunday.
I will just add it to my "to do" list.
