Unexpected Surprises
I thought this weekend would be relaxing, and I would be able to lounge around and not do very much. Boy, was I wrong.
Saturday
I had a committee meeting this Saturday 1pm, and ended up going to the movies at 4:30pm to see Another Gay Movie.

The movie is basically "American Pie" for gays. This was more funny than "Adam and Steve" but only marginally. It doesn't know what it wants to be. It is a grossout film but it also tries to throw in a romance, which doesn't work in the movie. The movie was followed by dinner at 7pm at place restaurant called Celebration. I didn't get home until 9pm and fell asleep on my couch watching SNL. But I am leaving out some details.
After dinner, I ended going to the grocery store to get some eggs and canola oil. I had a hankering for brownies and lacked the appropriate ingredients. I remebered that Dr. Rx was working, which led to an internal debate whether I should go to his store. Of course, I ended up going to his because I am weak.
As I entered the store I noticed that he was closing up shop for the night. The co-worker, let call him LT, he brought to the tennis draw party was there, but that didn't stop me from saying hello. Besides, I liked the co-worker ... as long as he wasn't trying to make a move on my man. But he is straight(?) so that wouldn't be an issue.
We talked for a bit and he let me know that he will be going to the Houston tennis tournament. YEAH! Then he told me that he will be bring one of his friends with him. BOO! It looks like I will not have a chance to get some one on one time with him in Austin.
We talked for a bit more and I noticed that he never looked me in the eyes. He said something a while back about how I had "Bambi Eyes" and it is hard to look at me. I think ... this is a good thing? It's not like he shot my mom and he can't ever look me in the eyes because of the guilt. Anyway, I ended the conversation because he was on his why home and I didn't want to monopolize his time any further. It was weird that LT was still following him out the door ... hmmmm.
Sunday
It was the first day this year that tennis was rained out. I was up at 7:30am and I didn't know what to do with myself because tennis is a big part of my Sunday. I got a call at 8:30am from some of the members asking if I wanted to have breakfast at Cafe Brazil. I was game because it has been ages since I had pancakes. I got there, late of course, and sat next to a friend of mine. Let's just call him Whiz.
This past Friday, I let Whiz know that I had a crush on Dr. Rx. Well at breakfast he accidently let some information slip. It turns out LT is living with Dr. Rx for some reason. This would explain a lot. I stopped Whiz because I didn't want to get too much information, but as far as I know and from what I've been told ... this was a friendly gesture and not romantic.
Anyway, we finish breakfast and head over to my friend's apartment for to play pool and drinks. We were all there until 2pm and I dropped off Whiz at home before heading back to the grocery store for my bi-weekly shopping. I am strolling up the can items aisle toward the dairy products and I see this guy. He was pretty much a blur because I trying to finish my shopping. I was about 3 feet away from him and he looked up at smiled at me. This was my internal thoughts:
If you aren't familar with The Greek get some background information here, here, and here.
I never thought I would see him again, but it was nice that I did. He sent me a long handwritten letter a couple of months ago apologizing for being a douche. I felt he wanted to get to get back together but it wasn't something I wanted to do. Now, here he is -- 8 inches away from me. We had a very brief conversation. I noticed that he lost some weight since I last saw him. He looked good. Our conversation was pleasant and I began to miss being around him. He is a nice guy, just not a guy I am meant to be with. So sent him an invitation together as friends for food. He has accepted and we are ironing out the details.
More shopping... I ran into a guy who quit my tennis league because of "drama." But it was more of his own than anyone elses. He is a nice guy but the reason why he left, as far as I know, has been blown out of proportion. More shopping ... see Dr. Rx but avoid because I looked like crap and I just talked to him the night before. I didn't want to seem needy. I like to give people their space.
I finally get home and I just lounge on my couch for the rest of the day. I had to catch up on my shows: Ugly Betty and Law and Order (SVU).
My house is still rotting from within because I didn't bother to clean or wash my clothes. I will do that when I get home from work. I am forced to do it because I don't have anything to wear tomorrow.
