Really enjoyed The Iron Lady. I saw the movie in a theater with 5 other people: 2 female friend in their 40s, a married couple in their 60s and their mother who is in her 80s. I don’t much of anything about Margaret Thatcher because she came in power before I was born and school never mentioned this in our history lessons. I know her name, and that she was the first female Prime Minister of Great Britain, but the image that pops up in my head when I hear her name is the puppet version that was in the Genesis video for “Land of Confusion”:
Meryl Streep does a good job, but I kept thinking that it is Meryl Streep playing Thatcher, and not having the ability to disappear into the role completely. The violence in the stock footage caused by the Thatcher administration was shocking because I had no idea. I will need to do some research on this period of time in Great Britain.
Good movie, and I recommend see it.
I have see ever Underworld, and this movie is just ridiculous. I am not going to say much about this movie. Just to demonstrate how ridiculous this movie is: if you are hit by multiple bullets … how does your clothes not get damaged? The less said about this movie the better.
